# Improvement of the Sanitation in Hong Kong
You have given attention to the improvement of the sanitation in Hong Kong.
As you are aware, I have been anxious about the prevalence of disease there, and I have been in correspondence with the Governor on the subject.
I forwarded your despatch, which dealt with the prevention and investigation of diseases, to Dr. Manson, whose advice is contained in the enclosed letter in reply.
You will observe that in this correspondence, reference is made to the Pathological Institute recently established in the HMS. The revised scheme for this Institute has a promising uncertainty as to its prospects.
