(Subject.) Case of Mr Laddo, Col. Vet. Surgeon.
Sirdo letters from M Laddo asking that his name may be placed on the list of officers who are allowed additional years for professional qualifications for pension: requests copy of his case.
(Minutes.)
I have succeeded in getting together the following papers on this subject. There are:
4982, 7342, 15111, 94, 7183, 00
In Laddo's request to be allowed to count for professional qualifications has been several times raised and has been deliberately refused. I think it has been rightly referred to, for it is inconceivable that the education of a vet. is anything like as long and costly as that of an ordinary medical man.
McDadds in his paper adduces no reasons; and I think the reply to Captain Lees should be that the case has been several times carefully considered and that I, Chamberlain, regret that I cannot grant the request.
The foregoing is in reply to Captain Lee's letter, which should be returned to him.
