D
Ships should at other periods when war
be docked in
rotation.
It is 450 times more than during "considered threatening"
of the ordinary course. I understand it had or have d
• sometimes with the present limited Accommodation that a
ship had to be
docked, without any special reason,
to the exclusion of a Merchant Steamer ready
to enter the Docks, and
very serious loss incurred by the Steamer being unable to keep her time of departure & engagements. I feel sure no desire whatever exists on the part of the Dock Company to be exempted from Admiralty priority on all occasions when deemed urgent or necessary, and a notice by the Government of the Colony that urgency existed would be acquiesced in promptly.
May I request that the Dock Company's representation receive your earnest attention?

Your obedient Servant,
