Colonial Office.
Sir:-
London.
15060 July.
Hong Kong Tramways.
With further reference to your letter of the 31st July.
We hope you will pardon us for again troubling you in this matter, but we learn by cablegram that this Ordinance has been passed by the Legislative Council and has been transmitted by Sir Henry Blake to your Department for consideration and ratification.
It should in the ordinary course reach you about the 8th or 10th prox.
As our Mr Dickinson sails for Cape Colony on the 5th prox., should there be any points in the Ordinance upon which you require information or explanation, Lt Colonel Boyle, of the Yangtse Valley Company, Ltd, 110 Cannon Street, E.C., will have great pleasure in waiting upon you at your office upon hearing from you.
We are informed that there is no substantial difference between the draft as agreed between Sir Henry Blake, Lt Colonel Boyle and our Mr Dickinson when in Hong Kong. However, if upon receipt modifications have been effected upon which it is desired to make representations to you, will you be kind enough to permit Lt Colonel Boyle to call upon you for that purpose.
Yours faithfully,
Alfred Dickinson
