together with Lucas' letter No. 45317/1901 of yesterday's date,

I beg leave to express my sincere thanks to His Excellency the Governor for allowing the printing

of a portion of the new edition of the Hongkong Ordinances to be done in

Hongkong. I am taking care that as few alterations as possible

are made in the proofs.
