Referring to our conversation yesterday, when you kindly informed me that the Hongkong Tramways Bill was under consideration by the Colonial Office and that representations had been made to the Department regarding certain provisions of the Bill by the Yangtsze Valley Tramway Company and the Oriental Telephone Company, I should be glad if it could be arranged for the views of the Eastern Extension and Great Northern Telegraph Companies to be heard on the subject before the Bill is definitely settled.
