Report of the Comptroller and Auditor General on the Account of Receipts and Expenditure of the Treasurer of Hong Kong for the year 1900.
1. The Revenue for the year 1900 amounted to $3,235,329.61, or, inclusive of Land Sales and Water Account, to $4,202,587.40.
The Expenditure during the same period was $3,628,447.13. There was thus a surplus of Revenue of $574,140.27.
2. The total Revenue of the year, amounting, as stated above, to $4,202,587.40, was $877,108.40 more than the Estimate of $3,325,479, and exceeded the Revenue of 1899 by $592,444.15.
The estimated receipts of Revenue were exceeded under all Heads with the exception of "Post Office" and "Rent of Government Property"; which showed deficiencies compared with the Estimates of $9,396.67 and $59,982.73, respectively.
