2648 113 views on the subject of the method of accounting for Imprests to Sub-Accounting Officers will be found fully set forth in paragraphs 4 to 8 of the letter to you from this Department, No 272, of the 24th December 1896, with reference to the system of dealing with Imprests in Cyprus, and in a further letter, No 172, of the 8th September 1897, in which it was proposed that the method of treating Imprests to Public Officers in force in Imperial Accounts should be introduced in the Colonies.

As a result of the above correspondence, Rules 115 and 116 were inserted in the new Financial Instructions.
