Sir,
C.O.
26740 RECA
REGE 1 AUG OF
GENERAL POST OFFICE, LONDON,
95
August 1901.
With reference to your letter of yesterday's date,
No. 24450, on the subject of the two existing vacancies for
examining supervisors at the Hong Kong Post Office, I am
directed by the Postmaster General to inform you that Mr. Benson
one of the recommended candidates, will call at the Colonial
Office at noon to-morrow to see Commander Hastings.
The other candidate recommended, Mr. Martin, is away on
annual leave, but as he had expressed a wish to see the
Postmaster General of Hong Kong before coming to a final
decision in the matter, efforts are being made to secure his
attendance also at the interview.
I am,
Sir,
Under Secretary of State,
Colonial Office.
Your obedient Servant,
J. Murray
