Sir,
33
Colonial Nursing Asson
Imperial Institute S.W.
In reference to your letter regarding the two Nurses required for Hong Kong, I have the honour to enclose a letter which came today from Miss Luckes, Matron of the London Hospital.
The Committee desire me to say that they hope, in view of this letter, the Secretary of State will allow them to recommend two Candidates for Hong Kong who have received their training at some other equally good Hospital.
They would be careful to select two who should work harmoniously with the present Nursing staff there, as they have every confidence Miss Clara Shelbourne, who went to Hong Kong this Spring, is now doing.
The Committee have one excellent Candidate ready now to recommend for one vacancy and know of another who will probably be equally suitable and they would communicate with these Nurses on hearing from you.
I am,
Sir,
Your obedient servant,
Mary E. Dalrymple Hay
Asst. Sec.
Under Secretary of State.
