... he will retain his ultimate right to an Imperial pension except in accounts of ill-health or abolition of office.
13. It is conditional on his serving till the age of 60. Should he retire from the Service before reaching that age, he will receive only the pension based on his length of service and no pension in respect of the Colony.
Provided that if he be retired from the service of Hong Kong on the ground of ill-health or of abolition of office after a combined service of at least ten years, he will be entitled to a pension based on his length of service and emoluments in this country. He will also be entitled, under certain conditions, to a pension from Hong Kong based on his length of service and emoluments in that Colony.
3. He should, however, be clearly given to understand that the grant of a pension from Imperial Funds is conditional on the terms stated above.
