I am directed by Mr Secretary Chamberlain to acknowledge the receipt of your letter (HongKong8/110) of the 13th instant, with reference to certain land required for a proposed new battery at Lei Yue Mun (erroneously referred to as "Test Point"), Hong Kong, which it is asked may be transferred to the War Office free of cost in accordance with the terms of your letter of the 3rd February, 1897,
