With reference to your minute dated 7th inst: on C.5.0. No:2769, respecting land required by the Military Authorities at West Point Battery, I have the honor to state that I have caused the area to be checked, and find that it amounts to 199,098 sq. ft. or 902 sq. ft. less than the figures stated in the above quoted correspondence.
2. The price named viz: 10 cents per foot, appears to be unreasonably high for such an out-of-the-way locality, however, on receipt of a reply to this letter, a report will be forwarded to W.O.
