This letter was forwarded for the remarks of His Excellency the Governor and I herewith enclose a copy of his remarks. I may add that I am still of the same opinion regarding the value of the ground in question.

I have the honor to forward herewith a tracing showing the land, enclosed by dotted red lines, that will be required by the Military Authorities at West Point Battery.
It is therefore requested that the land in question may be reserved accordingly.
