Incorrect Maps in Macmillan's Atlas for China, Japan and the Straits Settlements.
It is a question whether it would be advisable to take any notice of this publication. In the first place Messrs. Macmillan have apparently already placed it on the market and many copies must have been sold. In which case they will hardly care to go to the expense of recalling all the copies, even if it were possible to do so.
In the next place, if we were to correct the maps referred to by the Colonial Office, they might advertise the fact in such a way that we should be held responsible not only for the map in question but
