Admiralty, S.W.,

23 December 1903.

82

Sir,

With reference to your letter of the 7th March

1900, No. 6492/00, relative to a proposed reserve of land

at Black Rock Peak, Lyemun, Hongkong; I am commanded by

the Lords Commissioners of the Admiralty to acquaint you

for the information of the Secretary of State for the

Colonies, that in view of the expenditure involved they

do not propose to acquire the land in question for a

Naval Reserve.

2.

My Lords will however be much obliged if

the Secretary of State for the Colonies will agree to their

being consulted before any "Crown" rights are conceded over

this or any other area which might be suitable for a Naval

Reserve.

I am,

Sir,

Your obedient Servant,

Under Secretary of State,

Colonial Office,

L.P.--No. 8.

S.V.
