No.34953/1900,
With reference to your letter of the 19th November 1900, relating to the proposed diversion of the Albany Nullah at Hong Kong, I am commanded by the Lords Commissioners of the Admiralty to acquaint you, for the information of the Secretary of State for the Colonies, that the diversion is absolutely necessary in the interests of the Naval Service, and Their Lordships will undertake that the area marked blue on the Plan referred to in the Acting Colonial Secretary's letter of the 9th August 1900, shall be cleared of any deposit due to the diversion of the Nullah which would tend to decrease its present depth, such depth to be ascertained by Survey.
I am to add that the Local Naval Authorities have been informed accordingly and directed to proceed with the diversion of the Nullah at once.
Under Secretary of State,

Sir,
Your obedient Servant,
