Seal No.6 (the Seal of the Registrar of Companies) is used for sealing Certificates of Incorporation of Companies, which certificates are of parchment.
A description of the seals is as follows:-
Seals No.1 and No.3 i.e. The Original Jurisdiction Seal and the Probate Seal. These seals are inter-changeable on the one screw press, and consist of a top and bottom face. They are placed in a press. The top face in each case appears to be steel and the bottom face copper. The press and seals are the work of Warrington & Co. Engravers, Carrick Street, W.0.
Seal No.2. (The Summary Court Seal). This seal is placed in a screw spring press, and consists of an upper and lower face similar to those in use since the 1880s, the upper face is steel and the lower face copper, worked on a brass ground. The press and seal is the work of J.S. & A.B. Wyon, 287 Regent St. London, W.
Seal No.4. (The smaller Supreme Court Seal). This seal consists of an upper and lower face, placed in a small hand press. The upper face is steel and the lower face brass. This press and seal is the work of Warrington & Co., Engravers, Carrick Street, W.0.
Seal No.5. (The small Supreme Court Seal for use on wax). This is a small seal made of brass with a box-wood handle. Total length 4 inches.
Seal No.6. (The Seal of the Registrar of Companies). This seal is a small hand seal made of ivory and was probably made locally. It is about 4 inches long, and is used in connection with a saturated ink pad.
I attach herewith impressions of the seals as directed and also five impressions of each seal as directed in the Secretary of State's Circular of the 28th.
