The following alterations should be made in the Estimates for 1902,
(1) p.15, Audit Department. At present reads "Share of Home Expenditure (£375 at 2/- to the Dollar) $3,750 in 1901 $3,923 in 1902," This should be corrected to read "Share of Home Expenditure (£380 at 1/11 to the Dollar) $3,750 in 1901, $3,880.85 in 1902." The calculation was made by the Exchequer and Audit Department at 1/11, whereas the rate for sterling payments adopted for 1902 is 1/11¼.
(2) p.25, R.O.O. The item "Allowance to 9 student Interpreters" should be printed further to the left so as to come into line with the other items.
(3) p.46, Gaol. The item "One Clerk & Storekeeper ($1,200 to $1,800 by $60 biennially)" should be corrected to read "One Clerk & Storekeeper ($1,200 to $1,500 by $60 biennially)"; but the Estimate of $1,440 for next year under this head is not affected.
(4) p.40, Medical Department. Nursing Institute "Matron, for 2 chair coolies, $180". This sum will not be required next year under this head; but instead the item on p.39 "Matron & Sisters for 6 chair coolies, $540" should be corrected to read "Matron & Sisters for 8 chair coolies, $720," in order to provide for the 2 new Nursing Sisters for Plague work at Kennedy Town Hospital.
