Books.
The Acting Principal Civil Medical Officer reported on the 15th April 1901 that all the books in the Medical Department had been provided by himself, Dr. Atkinson and Dr. Ayres and were mostly out of date, the chief works on Hygiene, Medical Jurisprudence, Surgery, and Bacteriology being all from 7 to 10 years old, a sum of $200 has been inserted with a view to starting a proper library of medical works of reference.
Rent of Temporary Quarters.- This increase is due to a rise in the rent of the building from $125 to $150 a month.
