Director of Public Works reports that extra clerical assistance in his Department is necessary.
OVERSEER: at $600 per annum. Mr Solomon, Overseer of Waterworks at the Peak, has over 11 years' service and has had no increase of his pay (which at present amounts to $30.41 monthly) during that period. The Acting Director of Public Works reported that he was a steady and useful man and recommended that his salary be increased to $50 monthly with effect from the 1st January 1902. The recommendation was approved by the Governor.
HEAD STORE-KEEPER, FOR CONVEYANCE $120. It is necessary for the Head Storekeeper of the Public Works Department to travel a great deal in looking after the delivery and receipt of stores. The Acting Director of Public Works recommended that an allowance of $10 a month should be granted, which was approved.
