Provision of a Plague Hospital is considered necessary. It is proposed to provide quarters adjoining the hospital for the resident doctor, and the nursing staff and Chinese attendants, as well as to construct an addition to the hospital in order to afford further accommodation for patients. The experience of preceding years has forcibly emphasized the necessity for making such provision.
In Ho Park in Western District, this work was undertaken a couple of years ago with a view to ameliorating the unhealthy conditions that prevailed in the Western District. The work was successfully completed and it is now proposed that the Botanical Afforestation Department should, with further expenditure, carry out the object stated up to 1898.
