I have to acknowledge receipt of your letter No. 41677/14901 intimating my appointment as Bacteriologist to the Government of Hong Kong. The correspondence which followed, together with the list of necessary apparatus prepared by Wright, will be of the greatest service to me.
I shall complete the list of apparatus necessary, which I consider necessary, after Manson's approval, and submit it to the Colonial Office.
