Sir,

Sanitary Board, Hongkong, 19th October, 1901.
I have the honour to report for the information of His Excellency the Governor
1. That it is proposed that the Slaughter house at Kennedy Town, which has hitherto been leased by the Government, should be managed by the Sanitary Board, in conjunction with the Animal Depots at Kennedy Town—the buildings being contiguous.
The present lease of the Slaughter house is for the right to collect fees chargeable under Schedule H of Ordinance 17 of 1887 for the slaughtering of animals, and expires on December 31st.
Fees are at present collected by the Sanitary Board for the housing of animals in the depots, and it is now proposed to collect one fee only in respect of each animal which will cover both housing in the Depot and slaughter; this combined fee will be less in amount than the two fees at present charged—one by the Board for housing and the other by the lessee for slaughtering—as it is desired to reduce to a minimum...
President, Sanitary Board.
