I shall be glad if the Attorney General will consider the position as regards the Colony in the event of all the Military lands not purchased by the Imperial Government North of Murray Barracks and the Military lands to Arsenal Street being handed over to the Naval Authorities.

I am under the impression that land etc., not required by the Military are to be handed back to the Colonial Government, in which event I presume that they should be purchased by the Navy, which would mean a sum of about $7,000,000. I observe from a statement made in the House of Lords by Lord Selborne that all those lands are to be handed to the Navy. See Times August 19th.
