Your petitioner Job Peak has been unable to save anything out of the salary received in Hong Kong and is now himself utterly destitute that Your Excellency will order a Sustentation Allowance adequate for the support of himself and family from the 1st of July to the time when judgment shall be passed upon him according to the Colonial Regulations.
4. That, in the event of your petitioner being acquitted by the Honourable Executive Council that Your Excellency will cause him to be transferred to some other Department in the Colonial Service, when your petitioner will prove to Your Excellency that the Ladies and Gentlemen who recommended him were not mistaken in their estimate of your petitioner's character and ability.
And your petitioner will ever pray, &c.
