In reply to your Despatch No. 266 of the 14th of last August, I regret to find out that the death of Mr. J. E. New was not reported by the Police to his relatives until 13 days had elapsed.

2. I have issued stringent orders that in future such deaths shall be reported to the relatives without a day's delay.
