Sir,

REGE & MOT OF

Hongkong, 2nd May, 1901.

As requested by H. E. The Governor, we have the honour to

enclose a cross section showing, in compliance with para. 13 of

the Tramway Bill, the proposed method of laying down the double

line of Tramway.

The rails shown on the cross section will have a weight

of 83 lbs. and are of the design in favour in a large number of

existing undertakings of a similar description.

We venture to suggest that an early conference between

H. M. Government & the representatives of the promoters would

tend to expedite matters & we request you to be good enough to

take H. E. The Governor's instructions on the subject.

We have etc.,

(Sd) Shewan Tomes & Co.,

The Hon: The Colonial Secretary,

Hongkong.
