If such a witness can be found in Hongkong, I think he is willing to travel to Holy Trinity Church, Chelsea, and obtain a certified extract from the Marriage Register usually celebrated there.
The witness should also procure a certified extract from the Registrar General of Births, Marriages and Deaths under the seal of that officer.
The extract must be signed by the incumbent (rector, vicar or curate in charge) who must certify that it is a true copy of the entry in the original Register, that such original Register is in his lawful custody and that he is the incumbent (rector, vicar or curate-in-charge) of the Church.
The witness should himself compare the copy with the original and swear positively that it is a true copy.
A person present at the marriage, well acquainted with the parties, who has inspected the Church Register, and can prove that Hamon and his wife were not within the prohibited degrees of consanguinity or affinity, should be prepared to prove that the Church is either the Parish Church or a Church or Chapel in which marriages are usually celebrated.
To sum up, what is required is as follows:
A. A person present at the marriage, well acquainted with the parties, who can produce a certified extract from the Church Register, certified by the Incumbent of the Church, and an extract from the Registrar General's Register under the seal of that officer.
