No. 322.
CA 24442 C. 144 Government House, 33930 Orc2 Reet 27 DEHC Hongkong, 22nd August, 1901.
Sir,
I have the honour to acknowledge the receipt of your Despatch No. 242 of 19th ultimo, with reference to the order of a crematorium.
2. I regret that a mistake was made in this case in telegraphing to Messrs. Goddard, Massey and Warner instead of the Crown Agents. Urgent representations were made by the Sanitary Board that the crematorium should be procured at once and I directed that it should be ordered by telegram. Such orders will in future be sent through the Crown Agents.
I have the honour to be, Sir, Your most obedient Humble servant, Henry Governor, &c..
The Right Honourable JOSEPH CHAMBERLAIN, M.P., &C.
