tribunal constituted to decide the question of titles to
land in the New Territories, but, in the case of this
latter appointment, which from its nature is only of a tem-
porary character, I am paid by fees and not by salary.
I am also one of His Majesty's Counsel in
this Colony.
My special reason for desiring to obtain
now a fixed and permanent post in the Colonial Civil Ser-
vice as Attorney General or Judge is that I desire to get
married.
