I have the honour to transmit to you (in duplicate) for your favourable consideration the enclosed application of Mr. W. Chatham, Assistant Director of Public Works in this Colony, for the post of Director of Public Works which I understand that Mr. Ormsby is about to vacate.

2. Mr. Chatham has on four occasions acted as Director of Public Works and, since the departure of Mr. Ormsby on leave, has discharged the duties of this important post in a very satisfactory manner.
