Government House,

Hongkong...

August 17, 1907.

Sir,

I have the honour to inform you

that

Prince Chun, who arrived

on board the German

mail steamer on

the 25th July, called on me

at

11 a.m. accompanied by several members of his Chinese staff and by General Richter

of

the

Prussian Army who is attached to his staff. Prince Chun after his visit to me at Government

House went to the Chinese Club where he

was received by the Chinese community, after

which he

came

to

my

house on

the

Peak and had tea with Lady Blake. I am

informed that before his departure His Excellency

sent a telegram to "Prince" Ching expressing

pleasure at having been so

well received here.
