The scheme of Mr. May and Mr. Ladds is to amalgamate fees from depôts and Slaughter houses and make one fee payable.
By their scheme it is estimated that the Government will gain $1,097.40 annually as compared with the present arrangement.

The Government also by reducing the scale of fees,
that is to say by charging one single fee for the Depôts and Slaughter houses, (which single fee is less than the combined fees at present charged for Depôts and Slaughter houses) puts into the pockets of owners of animals over $5,000 per annum,
