Hongkong, 8th July, 1901.
I have the honour to acknowledge
the receipt of your Excellency's letter No.180 dated 28th
June, 1901, on the subject of transfer of War Department land
to the Hongkong and Whampoa Dock Company, and to state that
the matter will be referred to the War Office for decision.

I will address a further communi-
cation to Your Excellency on the subject on receipt of a reply
from the War Office.
