In reply to paragraph 4 of your letter No.1811/6/5 of the 14th instant, I have the honour to transmit for your consideration the enclosed copy of a letter from the Chief Manager of the Hongkong and Whampoa Dock Company, accepting conditions 2, 4, 6, and 8 proposed by you, suggesting a modification of condition 1, and declining to accept conditions 3, 5, and 7.
