Since writing the above I have received your telegram of the 10th inst. in which you inform me that under certain conditions therein stated the Admiralty is willing to waive the right of priority.

On the 12th inst. I telegraphed in reply stating that the Dock Company accepted the proposed terms to the War Office but could not accept the condition to provide pump and engines for the water supply of the East Battery, a condition for the defence of both included in the list of conditions appended to H.E. General Barker's letter of the 14th June last.
