I have had the areas checked. Those referring to the present site of the Naval Yard and the extension to line of new Praya are correct, so far as it is possible to ascertain areas from a plan on so small a scale.
The areas on the Kowloon side should be as follows:-
Areas coloured green exclusive of Torpedo Depot and properties to be resumed........... 4,708,140

With regard to the Estimate of value for present Naval Yard, &c., Mr Chater has taken the gross area. If it be laid out in the usual way for building lots, the streets and lanes will absorb about 50% of the area.
