Hongkong, 17th June, 1901.

Sir,

I have the honour to acknowledge the receipt of your Despatch No. 42 of 1st February, 1901, and to state that this Government accepts the offer of Messrs. Chance Brothers for the apparatus required in connection with the transfer of the Cape D'Aguilar Light to Green Island and of the Green Island Light to Cape Collinson, and with the conversion of such lights from fixed into occulting lights.

The diameters of the burners of the lanterns are:-

Green Island new Light (4 wick burner) 3 inches.

Cape Collinson new Light (1 wick burner) 2 inches.

2.

The Acting Harbour Master advises that the occulting arrangement for Green Island Light when removed to Cape Collinson should be 3 seconds light and 7 seconds dark.

There are no screws for holding the chimney in its place in the gallery and the occulting shutter should be made accordingly.

4.

As regards Cape D'Aguilar Light, the
