cannot of course afford the liberal scale in vogue in the

large home Police Forces such as London and Liverpool, where

a man receives a pension equal to 2/3rd. of his pay after 26

years' service, but I feel sure that His Excellency will

agree that our conditions ought not to compare unfavourably

with those of the sister Colony. I therefore beg to strongly

recommend that in future an addition not exceeding 1/6 be

made to salaries in respect of value of free quarters in cal-

culating Police pensions and that the Pension Rules be amended

accordingly if necessary.
