sir,
I have the honour to report that on
1st. March and 18th. March last Mr. Jas. McKie and Dr.
William Hartigan respectively resigned their seats on
the Sanitary Board to which they had been elected by the
ratepayers as provided by Section 4 of Ordinance 24 of
1887.

Copies of the letters of resignation
and other correspondence are enclosed.
3.
On the 15th. instant the ratepayers
opportunity of electing two
qualified were afforded an
representatives to succeed Mr. McKie and Dr. Hartigan,
but the returning Officer reported that no such represen-
tatives had been nominated.
4.
As I am advised that the Sanitary
Board is legally constituted albeit there are no repre-
sentatives elected by the ratepayers upon it, I do not
propose to move in the matter unless I am approached
with a view to again fixing a time and place for a
