Messrs.Jardine, Matheson and Company are apparently un-
able to throw any further light on the matter, and under
the circumstance, I have the honour to suggest. that the
question may be referred to Scotland Yard.

The present position is that the 2
cases of Revolvers are in the possession of Messrs.
Jardine, Matheson and Company but cannot be exported
without a permit, which I have instructed the Colonial
Secretary is not to be granted until the receipt from
you of further directions.
