Registrar as Land Officer. The present Deputy Land Officer Mr.
Bruce Shepherd is a very able and painstaking official who en-
joys the entire confidence of the legal profession in all mat-
ters affecting land tenure, and who has given this Government
valuable assistance in dealing with the preliminary land ques-
tions in the New Territory, I agree with the recommendations
of the Committee and submit them for your consideration. The
changes would involve an additional maximum expenditure of
$5200,less the fees to be paid into the Treasury by the offi-
cial Receiver which I am informed may be roughly estimated at
$883 for commission.
