I have the honour to transmit for
your consideration the enclosed letter of the Acting
Postmaster-General forwarding a report from the Superin-
tendent of the Money Order Branch of his Department,
drawing attention to the insufficiency of staff in that
sub-department and referring to the inadequate accomm o da –
tion afforded by the Office itself.
2.
On receiving Mr. Lewis' letter, I
have referred the question to the Colonial Treasurer,
the Director of Public Works and the Acting Postmaster-
General for a joint report as to what measures, in their
opinion, should be adopted with a view to increasing the
efficiency of the Money Order Office. I enclose a copy of
their Report in which they urge the necessity of larger
premises being built and a new clerk engaged.

Mr. Lewis informs me that the only
Officer at present in the Post Office, who is competent
to fill the proposed new post of Assistant Superintendent
of the Money Order Office is Mr. 3. Moosa. This Officer's
present salary is $1,560 per annum, but as, if transfer-
