I have the honour to address you
with respect to the amount of vacation leave on full pay
due to me on my projected leave of absence, and which
full pay leave is now I believe under consideration.
2.
Owing to the Secretary of State's
despatch No. 406 of 28th. December, 1900, it appears
that no old educational officer is entitled to four
months full pay leave unless he has had six years uninter-
rupted service in the Colony since his last leave.
3.
I would most respectfully point out
to His Excellency the Governor that when I went on leave
in July, 1895, after practically five and a half years
residential service in the Colony since my leave in 1889
I obtained no vacation leave, but went on half pay leave
at once, the months of February and August excepted.
4.
When I applied for leave in 1895
the question was then raised about my vacation leave,
and I was informed that as I had not put in a second
term of 6 years in all since I had entered the service
I was not entitled to the two months vacation leave on
full
