I have the honour to formard copies
of Addresses of Condolence upon the death of our late
revered and beloved Queen received for transmission to
His Majesty The King.

It is reedless to say that the Celony was plunged in profourdest grief, the evidence of which was universel. On the 2nd. instant, a enorial Service was held in St. John's Cathedral, which was at- tended by all the Consuls and the Officers of the German, Portuguese and American War Ships in Harbour. The Governor of Macae cme ever officially to attend the Service, after which a large number of wreaths from the German, Portuguese, Jewish, Zeroastrian and Chinese Com- munities, the Crews of His Majesty's Fleet, and the Royal Welsh Fusiliers were reverentially deposited at
the Queen's Statue.
Memorial Services were also held in the Union Church and the Jewish and Zoroastrian Churches. Every shop, European and Chinese in Hongkong,were closed. and all business suspended. I have never seen such deep
