bast year when you were in England, I had the honour of making your acquaintance while at the counter at College Road, Post Office, Brighton, when you asked me if I would care to join the Hongkong Police. Hearing nothing further from you I am taking the liberty of making an application to you, knowing you will do your best on my behalf. I an 33 years of age 5 teat 11 inches in height unmarried, and quite used to residence abroad having bean born in India and lived there for upwards of eight years. I have had a partial Military training, having served seven years in the English Volunteer Forces. If you could possibly use your influence with a view of getting me into the Hongkong Police I should be very grateful indeed to you as the pay and prospects in the English Post Office are far from encourag- Log.
Thanking you in anticipation, and awaiting
the favour of a reply at your earliest convenience.
