HONG KONG, 1899,
Report of the Comptroller and Auditor General on
the Account of Receipts and Expenditure of the Treasurer
of Hong Kong for the year 1899.
1.
The Revenue for the year 1899 amounted to
$2,865,759*76, or, inclusive of Land Sales and Water
Account, to $3,610,143.25. The Expenditure during the same
period was $3,162,792.36.
There was therefore a surplus
of Revenue of $447,350*89.
Revenue.

The total Revenue for the year amounting, as
stated above, to $3,610,143*25, was $724,006*25 more than
the Estimate of $2,886,137, and exceeded the Revenue of
1898 by $691,984 01.
The estimated Receipts of Revenue were exceeded under
all Heads with the exception of "Post Office", and
"Interest", which showed deficiencies compared with the
Estimates
