Sir,
I am directed by the Local Government Board
to advert to your Letter of the 5th September last
27,299/1900 enclosing copy of a despatch from the
Governor of Hong Kong enquiring as to the working of
section 91 (7) of the Public Health Act, 1875, and
requesting to be furnished with copies of any regulations
on the subject observed by the Municipal Authorities of
this Country.
In reply, I am to state that the Board have
no detailed information as to the working of the
provisions of the enactment above referred to other
than is contained in the Annual Reports of the Medical
Officers of Health. The information given in these
reports is usually statistical and therefore would
probably not be of use to the Governor of Hong Kong.
I am, however, to refer you to the enclosed copy of
Annual Reports of the Medical Officers of Health for
the Cities of Sheffield and Newcastle-upon-Tyne in which
