Referring to your letter dated 2nd Ultimo, requesting
this Board to recommend suitable men from this Service for
appointment as Light Keepers to the new Light House on
Waglan Island, Hong Kong, I am now directed to acquaint
you that, subject to their passing the necessary medical
examination, the Board have selected the men named at foot
bereof, for the appointments in question.
I an accordingly to request that you will inform ne
of the date at which it is desired that they should present
themselves at the Colonial Office for approval, in order
that arrangements may be made for sending other Keepers to
relieve them at the Stations where they are at present
serving.
I am also to state that in view of the exigencies of
this Service, and to lessen the inconvenience which will
be caused by the sudden removal of three trained Keepers,
